Skimming is the process of applying a two coat finishing plaster to walls or ceilings to give a smooth, flat texture in preparation for painting.

Skim coat finishing plaster should always be applied with an initial coat of around 2-3mm thickness. After allowing this coat to dry for around 20-30 minutes (depending on the background it is applied to) it is flattened and the second coat is applied at around 1-2mm thickness.

Our highly skilled plasterers then flatten this coat until silky smooth, leaving it ready for you to decorate.
